I have over 25 years of clinical experience working as a music therapist with the elderly population specifically those with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders. Using music as a tool, I impliment goal oriented interventions that meet the physical, cognitive, social and spiritual needs of the client primarily during a group activity. My approach is multi-sensory; using sight, sound, and touch/feel, the brain is stimulated. Interventions may include familiar songs, rhythm and movement, lyric analysis and songwriting, drum circle, conducting, and music appreciation/education. I recently relocated here from Pennsylvania. I was an Assisted Living Administrator at a very successful 55 bed multi building care home from 2003-2009. During that time I was involved if not solely responsible for every aspect of owning and managing this type of business such as:employee supervisor, scheduling, employee education, accounts payable & recieveable, purchasing, inspections, payroll, admissions, discharges & marketing to name a few. I intend to get my FL certification in the fall and would like to establish myself in a assisted living setting where I can grow and make a difference in peoples lives.
