  • Assisted Living Providers: Some Sinking Under Florida's SMMC LTC Program

    Hundreds of  assisted living providers are gravely concerned about their ability to continue serving the SMMC residents in their facilities without going under.  A $1 bill can only be stretched so far, 100 pennies still have only a $1 value, 1+1 simply does not = 3, 4 or 5. Perhaps somewhere, planning early on in this rather large and complicated undertaking, there was a simple miscalculation.

  • Preparing for the “new” ALF PreService Orientation

    As of October 1, 2015, new employees at assisted living facilities who have not completed core training must attend a two-hour pre-service orientation before interacting with the residents. This new rule presents some challenges but is not daunting.

Chairman's Message

Dear Members and Visitors:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA). FALA is a professional organization representing the owners and operators of assisted living facilities and adult family care homes in the State of Florida. Its membership includes for profit and not-for-profit assisted living facilities and adult family care homes ranging in size from two (2) beds to four hunderd and seventy-five (475) beds. FALA’s priority is to assist members in providing the highest quality of care for the residents of assisted living facilities.

The association houses some of the most knowledgeable group of assisted living industry professionals in the State of Florida. FALA promotes best practices in operations, encourages high standards and lobbies on behalf of its members and the industry. It is the leading provider of quality education and training for assisted living professionals and adult family care home providers in Florida. 

 
The FALA Board is enthusiastic about the future of our industry and we appreciate those who participate and support the Florida Assisted Living Association.
